FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): Nine hundred less fortunate families in the Warduj district of northeastern Badakhshan province received cash assistance, an official said on Monday.
Mawlavi Muhammad Yunous Jahadmal, Refugees and Repatriation Department Director, told Pajhwok Afghan News each needy family was provided 11,100 Afs by the Concern Worldwide
Before the fall of past regime, this organization worked in the agricultural sector, but since then they lunched work in the humanitarian assistance area.
According him, the purpose of distribution this cash aid is to reach and help poor families in the province.
Baz Muhammad Chakran, one of the aid recipient, hailed the provision of aid and said due to the past two decades war and drought in the country, they were in bad economic situation.
He called on the government and charities organizations to increase cash and food aid to those in need.
