32 killed as storms, tornadoes sweep through US

KABUL (Pajhwok): Fierce tornadoes and storms have killed 32 people in the southwestern region of the United States. Media reports say.

The Associated Press reported 32 individuals lost their lives in the recent storms and tornadoes. Efforts are ongoing to rescue those trapped under the rubble.

President Joe Biden declared a state of emergency in some areas and ordered local authorities to immediately address the situation of victims.

Biden said: “While we are still assessing the full extent of the damages, some families are desperately waiting for news of others fighting for their lives,”

The report said 11 states of the country witnessed incidents of storms and tornadoes during the past two days. In addition to human casualties, houses turned to rubble, trees were taken out and business centers sustained damages.
