KABUL (Pajhwok): The Economic Commission has approved in principle a plan for self-sufficiency in vegetable oil and decided to grant fiber optic licences to new applicants.
A statement from the office of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said the technical committee gave the go-ahead to the plan for autarky in vegetable oils.
The commission also entrusted representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock with implementing the plan along with the ministries of energy and water and commerce.
The ministry was also tasked to share the business plan with other ministries, considering their opinions and presenting them to this committee.
The Economic Commission’s meeting also decided on issuing licences to new fiber optic applicants through international tenders.
It also decided to refer contracts with qualified companies to the commission for approval.
The technical committee conferred on potential income sources of income for the National Environmental Protection Authority.
NEPA was also tasked to share the plan with the relevant ministries and agencies and submit it to the committee with their views.
