KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan ambassador in Ashgabat and a top UN diplomat have discussed various issues, including interaction between the caretaker government and regional countries.
Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) Ambassador to Turkmenistan Fazal Mohammad Saber met Andriy Larin, political adviser to the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).
The Afghan embassy in Ashgabat wrote on its X handle major infrastructure projects, start of practical work on public welfare schemes in Afghanistan and creation of jobs for people came up for discussion.
The two sides also conferred on IEA’s interaction with neighbouring and regional countries, the embassy said.
Larin briefed the Afghan diplomat on activities of UNRCCA. He said the purpose of establishing the centre was to assist and support regional countries, including Afghanistan.
He praised efforts of caretaker government for combating drugs and eradicating the scourge of administrative corruption.
For his part, Saber listed expanded political, economic and transit cooperation with neighbouring and regional countries, especially Turkmenistan, as important achievements of IEA over the last three years.
