KABUL (Pajhwok): Former president Hamid Karzai on Wednesday strongly condemned a US forces’ airstrike that caused casualties to civilians in southern Helmand province.
Karzai in a statement called the last night airstrike in Garamsir district as against all human norms.
The airstrike reportedly killed 16 civilians including women militants in Zanzir Dorab area.
Former president Hamid Karzai said the airstrike was barbaric that killed and wounded a number of civilians.
Karzai viewed the airstrike as against all human norms and an act to sabotage the peace process in Afghanistan.
He urged the warring parties to avoid targeting civilians in their operations and work for peace instead of fueling the war.
