KABUL): A suicide bomber trying to enter the Minister of Energy and Water in Kabul was shot dead by police on Tuesday evening, an official said.
The explosives strapped to the attacker’s body went off policemen fired at him, the Ministry of Interior spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Ghulam Siddique Siddiqui said moments after the incident that at least one civilian was wounded in the explosion, which occurred at 7.30pm, on Darul Aman Road.
He added police positively identified the attacker on a bicycle and asked him to stop but he disregarded the orders. As a result, he was gunned down.
An eyewitness, earlier, said the blast caused casualties and damaged two vehicles. However, he had no further details.
