WASHINGTON (Pajhwok): US President Barack Obama has decided to keep 5,500 troops at strategic bases in Parwan, Nangarhar and Kandahar provinces post-2016, an official said on Thursday.
An announcement in this regard by the US president is expected later in the day, a senior administration official told Pajhwok Afghan News correspondent in Washington.
