MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Farmers in northern Balkh province say they are concerned their crops yield could get affected due to insufficient rains this winter, but officials dismissed their worries.
“Currently, the crops do not need water, but if there is no rainfall for months, all our crops would become wilted and the yield would decline,” a farmer in Jar Kala area of Chamtal district, Mohammad Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
“The land has absorbed this month’s rainwater that fulfills water requirements of crops for the months of February and March,” he said, complaining . . .
