MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A campaign to plant new fruit orchards on 2,000 acres of land has been launched in five northern provinces, officials said on Sunday.
National Horticulture and Livestock Program (HNLP) manager in northern zone, Fahim Jabari, told Pajhwok Afghan News the orchards would be established on land under irrigation.
He said farmers were being trained on growing techniques of orchards as part of the project.
