KABUL (Pajhwok): Independent Election Commission (AIEC) chief Ahmad Yousuf Nuristani on Saturday resigned from his post, an official said.
Deputy presidential spokesman, Syed Zafar Hashimi, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Nuristani’s resignation was accepted by President Ashraf Ghani.
A statement from the Presidential Palace said Nuristani presented his resignation to the president after realizing the country’s political and social situation and for the sake of national interest and restoration of social prosperity and stability of Afghanistan
