HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Since the unity government’s coming into power two and a half years ago, still most of the government offices in western Herat province are headed by acting officials, local representatives said yesterday.
Some Provincial Council (PC) members and political affairs experts have strongly criticized running government departments by acting heads.
They say the government has no policy to replace acting heads with new faces. Experts believe political wrangling and deals are to blame for not allowing professional people to be hired to these posts.
