MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The governor of northern Balkh province on Friday warned the Taliban that they would be vanquished if they did not join the peace process.
Speaking at a gathering after offering Eidul Fitr prayers in Mazar-i-Sharif, the governor, Mohammad Ishaq Rehguzar, said he would continue his fight against corruption and terrorism.
The governor directed security officials to maintain tight security during Eid holidays. He said security threats existed in three districts of Balkh and operations would be launched soon there.
