KABUL will hold a trilateral meeting in Chabahar on October 23-24 to discuss all-out cooperation, says an Indian diplomat.

“We are currently waiting for Afghanistan’s response on its presence in the meeting,” Indian Ambassador to Iran Saurabh Kumar said on Wednesday.

Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organisation quoted the envoy as saying that a delegation of India’s Ministry of Shipping and other ministries would attend the meeting.

The Indian government wanted temporary and main contracts to be pursued more quickly so that economic cooperation with Iran was further promoted, he added.

“All of us need to make efforts to quickly remove the existing challenges, particularly those in the area of banking issues,” the diplomat continued.

Kumar said the Indian government was seeking to accelerate investment and augment its presence in Chabahar’s Shahid Baheshti Port.
