KABUL Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHCR) head Sima Samar has been ousted from her post which she held for 18 years, an official said on Wednesday.
An official at the Presidential Palace, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News a new director of the rights body would be soon introduced.
However, some other sources, confirming the dismissal of Sima Samar, said the National Security Council (NSC) deputy head Shahzad Akbar was likely to replace Samar.
It is to be mentioned here that the unity government leaders recently conducted interviews for appointing commissioners of the rights body.
