JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Tribal elders and the Provincial Council of eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday said they braved security threats and risked their lives to cast their votes in last month’s presidential election, rejecting claims the vote was rigged in the province.
The elders and public representatives apparently referred to some presidential candidates who recently claimed there was widespread rigging in the presidential election in Nangarhar.
The Nangarhar elders warned they would not accept a two-headed government this time and would defend their vote at the cost of their lives.
