KABUL or lower house of parliament on Saturday said decided to summon top security officials over insecurity on the Kabul-Parwan highway and called for investigation into alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl in Badghis province.
Mir Dad Khan Nijrabi, a lawmaker from central Kapisa province, expressed his deep concern over insecurity on the Kabul-Parwan highway and said the highway was not secure for both civilians and military personnel.
He said on a daily basis, government employees, including police, judges and prosecutors and elderly men, were killed on the road in limits of Qarabagh district of central Kabul province.
He mentioned the killing of two former jihadi commanders from Kapisa by unknown armed men in Qarabagh district.
Earlier, two military prosecutors of the Bagram prison were killed and as many wounded in Qarabagh district of Kabul.
Nijrabi and a number of other lawmakers called for summoning of security officials and asked security forces to pay attention to the Kabul-Parwan highway security.
Mir Rahman Rahmani, Wolesi Jirga speaker, said: “Qarabagh district of Kabul province has become a slaughter house for people and security forces should strongly pay attention to the Kabul-Parwan highway.”
He said the interior minister should be summoned next week to provide details about the insecurity on the Kabul-Parwan highway to the house.
Sexual abuse of 10 years old girl
Local officials have confirmed a 10 years old girl, a student of an Islamic institute, has been sexually abused in Qala-i-Naw, the provincial capital of Badghis province.
Nazir Ahmad Hanifi, a lawmaker from western Herat province, termed the incident as crime and urged the government to recognize the perpetrators and investigate the issue seriously.
NazifaYousufiBek, another lawmaker from Takhar province, also termed sexual abuse of the 10 years old as inhuman and un-Islamic and urged harsh punishment for the rapist(s) in order others could draw a lesson.
A number of other lawmakers expressed similar views and urged the government to give severe punishment to those involved in the crime.
Mir RahmanRahmani, Wolesi Jirga speaker, strongly condemned the incident and urged the government to seriously investigate the issue.
