Energy minister steps down on medical grounds

KABUL (Pajhwok): Water and Energy Minister Mohammad Gul Khulumi has resigned on medical grounds, an official said on Wednesday.

Seer Nekzad, spokesman for the ministry, told Pajhwok Afghan News the minister stepped down due to health problems.

President Ashraf Ghani has approved the minister’s resignation, according to Nekzad, who said Khulumi was suffering from respiratory problems.

Doctors have reportedly advised him to stay aloof from air pollution for some time.
