KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has fired Ambassador to Russia Dr. Latif Bahand on the basis of verbal orders from President Ashraf Ghani.
Dr. Bahand was appointed as ambassador to Russia on October 23, 2018. His ambassadorial appointment was then widely commended as a good decision.
A letter sent by MoFA to Moscow and signed by deputy economic cooperation head Mirwais Nab, says Dr. Bahand was relieved on Sunday August 9.
