KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Thursday set a 24-hour deadline for UNICEF head for polio project to leave Afghanistan within 24 hours.

Deputy spokesman of the president, DawaKhanMinapal, in a tweet said that Mohammad Mohammadi, head of polio project of UNICEF was ordered to leave Afghanistan within the next 24 hours.

“Mohammad Mohammadi, UNICEF head for its polio project is ordered to leave the country for lack of transparency in the vaccination program and his indifference towards the Afghan President,” he said.

Some sources earlier had said that Mohammad Mohammadi and the president had a disputed discussion over Covid-19 disease.

According to reports, President Ghani had asked Mohammadi to provide details of the budget spent on Covid-19 disease but he refused to do so.
