KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Water Management Authority (AWMA) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) held a meeting on implementation of Nakamura designed water management schemes in other provinces of Afghanistan.
The meeting hailed Dr. Nakamura’s efforts in the area of irrigation and water management in Nangarhar, Kunar and Nuristan provinces and conferred on implementation of similar projects in other areas of the country, according to a statement from AWMA.
AWMA head Eng. Khan Mohammad Takal said that late Nakamura constructed a 25.51 kilometer canal from Kunar River to irrigate barren land in the Gamberi Desert.
