KABUL (Pajhwok): Top diplomats of Iran and Uzbekistan have held talks on cooperation on the Afghan peace process, says a media report.
Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and his Uzbek counterpart Abdulaziz, at a meeting in Tashkent, agreed on boosting cooperation with efforts to bring peace to Afghanistan.
Mehr News Agency reported the two sides conferred on bilateral and regional cooperation among Central Asian states on issues of common interest.
They also discussed bilateral relations, US sanctions against Iran and cooperation on peace in Afghanistan, the report added.
Zarif will also meet Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev before travelling to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
