PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Pakistan army chief and top Saudi leaders have exchanged views on regional security, including the situation in Afghanistan.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud in Jeddah on Friday.

Matters of mutual interest, regional security, including recent developments in the Afghan peace process, came up for discussion.

The Inter-Services Public Relations chief said Prince Khalid Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and the deputy defence minister also attended the meeting.

The two sides also conferred on bilateral defence and security, collaboration for regional peace and connectivity. The ISPR director-general added.

Gen. said that Pakistan is resolute in its commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom and defence of the two Holy Mosques, the statement said.

The meeting in Jeddah came as Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in the oil-rich kingdom on a three-day official visit.
