KABUL (Pajhwok): Thirteen people were killed in a bomb attack on a military bus in central Damascus on Wednesday, the BBC reported.
The ill-fated vehicle was attacked with two explosive devices under a bridge in the capital of Syria soon after dawn.
Elsewhere in the country, Sana News Agency reported, eight people were killed in the opposition-controlled northwest soon after the bus blast.
The casualties in the Ariha town of Idlib province included several school children, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based monitoring group, claimed.
A third explosive device was found on the bridge and defused. The death toll from the bombing could go up as many of the wounded are in critical condition.
Syrian state TV showed charred cabin of the bus. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. Rescuers could be seen evacuating body parts from the scene.
