PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has once urged the international community to accelerate delivery of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

National Security Adviser (NSA) Dr Moeed Yusuf said Afghanistan was heading towards a new disaster.

In an interview with the BBC on Wednesday, Moeed asked the West to change its attitude towards the war-torn country.

He argued: “If there is a government of people who fought against America and other western countries, there are also 35 to 40 million people who have nothing to do with it.”

Millions of Afghans, facing starvation, needed to be fed immediately, the NSA stressed. “There is huge pledged money that cannot get into Afghanistan.”

Moeed explained there were 19 channels, including the United Nations, which could not function.

In the given situation, the advisor asked, how the people of Afghanistan could be fed. He called for immediate action to avert the looming humanitarian crisis.
