KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work on a two-kilometer ring road has begun in this capital city of southeastern Khost province at a cost of 24 million afghanis.
The road begins from Khabaryal road and reaches Sheikh Zayed University. Construction of some culverts is also part of the project.
Khost governor Mualvi Mohammad Nabi Omari at the road’s inauguration ceremony said the project would be completed in high quality.
He said any negligence was not acceptable to him and asked the municipality officials to complete the road in a timely manner.
He said the government was committed to providing services to people and the provincial administration was serious about combating corruption and those involved in corruption would be dealt with sternly.
Khost mayor Qari Bismillah Bilal said the road project would be monitored in an organized manner. He assured that similar uplift projects would be launched in future by utilizing the municipality’s development budget.
He said the ring road would be completed in the next three months.
