KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran has ruled out recognising the current Afghan government unless it becomes really inclusive.

However, the Iranian ambassador in Kabul said Tehran could ask other countries to recognise the Islamic Emirate if it reformed the government structure.

In an interview with TOLOnews, Bahadur Aminian said Iran would not accept an Afghan government that excluded many ethnic groups.

“Therefore, we benevolently call on the Taliban rulers to form an inclusive government,” the Iranian diplomat added.

But a spokesman for the Islamic Emirate slammed Aminian’s remarks as an attempt to interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.

Inamullah Samangani asked: “Is the Iranian government or cabinet based on other people’s definition of inclusive?”

He argued: “Every country has its own definition of an inclusive government based on its national interests.”

If not checked, the current economic crisis in Afghanistan would pave the way for extremist forces, particularly for Daesh, the Iranian ambassador warned.

Aminian spurned claims that Iranian forces were mistreating Afghan refugees. About four million Afghans living in Iran were provided all possible services, he argued.
