LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): The Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Department has started planting 500,000 saplings in the Bolan area of Lashkargah, capital of southern Helmand province.
Maulvi Sayed Jalaluddin Agha, director of agriculture, told Pajhwok Afghan News the plantation campaign was initiated on Monday by the Human Resource Development Agency (HRDA) with financial support from the World Food Program (WFP).
He said the project would also provide six-month employment to 300 people. However, the official had no information about the campaign budget.
Agha added officials of the organisation had promised implementing similar programmes in Sangin and Kajaki districts as well . . .
