KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba began their first face-to-face negotiation in Turkey.

Ukrainian and Russian Foreign Ministers DmytroKuleba and Sergei Lavrov started their first high-level diplomatic contact since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Thursday in the Turkish city of Antalya.

Turkish Foreign Minister MevlütÇavuşoğlu also attended the meeting.

Turkish President RecepTayyipErdogan had previously expressed hope that the meeting would help establish a permanent ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

The meeting comes two weeks after the launch of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, an adviser to the Ukrainian president said that his country has enough troops to counter the attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

The talks come at time when three rounds of negotiations have previously held in Belarus.
