KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Maternal mortality rate has decreased in the last 10 months in northern Kunduz province, health officials said.
Razia Shaidaee, head of the maternity section in the provincial hospital, told Pajhwok Afghan News four patients died at the hospital during childbirths in the last 10 months compared to 11 deaths before.
She attributed the decline in maternal deaths to highways’ safety, timely arrival of patients to health centers, and the activation of centers that in the past had been inactive for a variety of reasons.
