KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): The agriculture department says northern Kunduz province has produced more than 10,000 tonnes of grapes this year, showing a 20 percent surge.
Abdul Ghaffar Sediqi, acting director of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, told Pajhwok Afghan News 10,560 tonnes of grapes were produced by 1,460 hectares of land.
Compared to last year, the fruit yield indicates a 20 percent increase. According to the official, last year's grape yield was 8,448 tons.
Sediqi tied the rise to favorable climate, distribution of medicine to and cooperation with gardeners.
