KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Pistachio yield has increased by 40 percent in northern Kunduz province this year, an official said on Sunday.
Abdul GhafarSediqi, director of agriculture, in an exclusive interview told Pajhwok Afghan News that about 105 tons of pistachio was harvested from 21,000 hectares of land this year against last year’s 73 tons.
He said that the pistachio harvested this year showed an increase of 40 percent.
Sediqi linked the increase in pistachio yield to appropriate climate and rains and protection of pistachio forests.
