BAMYAN (Pajhwok): A man in central Bamyan province earns 50 afghanis daily, but he has a strong will to educate his children and make their future bright.

Hussain has been displaced from Waras district to Bamyan city where he works and sends his children to school.

He told Pajhwok Afghan News: “I left Waras district six years ago and migrated to Bamyan city to work and educate my children.”

Hussain, 45, is a father of two sons and four daughters. He works from dawn to dusk against a meager amount.

He lives in Zargaran village against 1,000 afs a monthly rent. Living in such cold city needs five months of work to earn for the whole year. “It is hard to spare money for the whole year,” he said, asking the government to assist him in educating his children.

But officials say poverty and unemployment is widespread in the province.

MawlaviNimatullahNumani, the director of works and social affairs, told Pajhwok Afghan News it was the government’s priority to provide work opportunities to the people.

“The government has been in contact with the neighboring, regional countries and the international community to provide our people with job opportunities”, Numani said.
