Nearly 4,600 vulnerable families distributed aid in 3 provinces

Kabul (Pajhwok): Thousands of less fortunate families and central Samangan Maidan Wardak and Samangan provinces have been provided food assistance and cash aid, according to and official and a statements on Saturday.

World Food Programme (WFP) distributed food items, included flour, rice, cooking oil and salt to less fortunate families in Maidan Wardak province, according to a statement from the Rural Rehabilitation and Development Department.

Separately WFP distributed food assistance to 1897 less fortunate families in Aibadk, the capital of Samangan province.

In Jawzjan, government distributed two million afs among the victims of recent fire.

Governor Da Mullah Mohammad Shoiab Resalat told Pajhwok Afghan News in compliance with the decree of the Islamic Emirate Leadership the cash assistance was distributed among the victims of recent fire.

He said on the bases of a survey 90 families had been affected and each victim was offered cash — 12,000 afs to 25,000 afs — aid considering the volume of damage inflicted on them.
