KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Local farmers and orchard owners in southern Kandahar province complain about a shortage of modern farming equipment and pesticides.
They say unseasonal rainfall, floods and diseases have left negative effects on farms and orchards this year.
Abdullah, a grower from Panjwai district, told Pajhwok Afghan News he had sprayed pesticide on his grape garden, but it had no positive impact on the plants.
Abdullah added: “We spayed our grape orchards with expensive pesticides, but did not get any positive results. The plants were instead hit by a disease. We need modern equipment and awareness about their use . . .
