KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) says about 18 tonnes of pine nuts worth $600,000 will be exported to Italy via land.
In a statement, the MoCI said the dried fruit would be exported by the Rahim Gardizi trading company.
The statement added: “About 18 tonnes of the pine nuts have been collected from Paktia, Paktika and Khost provinces and processed and packed by Rahim Gardizi company according to international standards. The dried fruit will be exported to Turkey and then to Italy by land.”
Meanwhile, Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the caretaker government, tweeted that about 18 tonnes of pine nuts were expected to be exported to Italy via land.
