GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Repatriation of internally displaced persons to their areas started on Monday in southeastern Paktia province, the Refugee Affairs Department said.
Paktia refugee affairs director Sabargul Mukhlis told Pajhwok the displaced families, numbering in hundreds, had been relocated to Paktia and other provinces due to the past war and now they were being sent back to their areas according to a plan.
He said the displaced families were being assisted by some organizations in the form of cash and food items.
“Today, 290 displaced families returned to their areas after receiving financial help from some institutions.”
