QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Over 2.25 million afs revenue collected by the municipality administration of Qala-i-Naw City, the capital of northwestern Badghis province in the past seven months, an official said on Friday.

Farid Ahmad Sediqi, the finance and administration head of Qala-i-Naw Municipality, said that over 2.25 million afs revenue has been collected during the past seven months.

He said the source of their revenue collection were cleanliness charges from residencies, government infrastructure, rents, contracts and some other sources.

“We spent this amount on the asphalting of roads, construction of ditches, washrooms, reconstructions of infrastructure,” he said.

Ahmad Shah, the resident of Qala-i-Naw, said the revenue collection from local resources should be spent for the welfare of people and development of the city.

“The municipality revenue should be spent on the implementation of uplift schemes and welfare of the people,” he said.

Mohammad Karim, another resident of Qala-i-Naw, said the revenue collected should be invested in the reconstruction of roads and uplift schemes.
