Karzai to leave for Germany in early December

KABUL (Pajhwok): Former president Hamid Karzai is due to travel to Germany in early December.

On August 15, 2021, when the Taliban seized power, many senior government officials, including former President Ashraf Ghani, left the country, but Karzai and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and some others did not leave and are currently in the country.

Previously there were reports that the caretaker government had barred Hamid Karzai from leaving the country.

However, on Saturday, Karzai’s spokesman Yousuf Saha told Pajhwok Afghan News that the former president was scheduled to visit Germany in early December.

It was Karzai’s personal trip and there was no hurdle in this regard, he added.
