LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A potable water supply network has been put into service after its completion at a cost of six million afghanis in the Musa Qala district of southern Helmand province.
Maulvi Muhammad Qasim Riaz, deputy head of Information and Culture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the huge water supply network was inaugurated in Khwaja Dad area of Musa Qala district.
He said the UNICEF-funded project consumed six million afghanis and took six months to complete and had the capacity to supply clean water to 200 families.
A resident of Khwaja Dad area Noorullah told Pajhwok that local residents had previously no access to clean drinking water but now the issue had been resolved.
Similar projects are being executed in Sangin, Nawazd, and Nadali districts.
