KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): For the first time, the coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) cardiac surgery of a 55-year-old man has been successfully performed in southern Kandahar province.
In Afghanistan, after Kabul, Kandahar becomes the second province where the open heart surgery was successfully done.
The surgery was performed in the 200-bed Momand international hospital under the leadership of an Afghan doctor who had studied in Germany.
Dr. Ehsanullah, the surgeon who performed the surgery, said all required medical equipment were available in the hospital and the operation team had been able to successful complete the surgery.
