KABUL/PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The maiden Afghanistan-Pakistan T20 series will begin at the Sharjah Stadium on March 25, both cricket boards have announced.
The second T20 will be played on March 27 and the final match on two days later March 29. All matches will take place at the same venue after Iftar.
After the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore on March 19, the Pakistani squad will leave for Sharjah on March 23.
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman Mirwais Ashraf hailed Pakistan’s willingness to play the T20 series.
Ashraf said: “Overall, we are excited to host and play Pakistan in what will be a thrilling series of cricket games between the two countries.”
Meanwhile, APCB head Najam Sethi said: “I am delighted that inaugural Pakistan versus Afghanistan T20I series will be played later this month…”
He noted the series would be played in a city with a large expat community that had always supported cricketers from both countries.
