QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): A number of people suffering from mental illnesses in western Badghis province complain about the absence of psychiatric treatment centres.
There is no such facility at the main provincial hospital in Qala-i-Naw. As a result, the mentally sick people have to cover a long distance to receive treatment.
Most of these patients visit Herat province. If their problems are not addressed there, then they go to Kandahar and Kabul and even abroad.
