Protocol signed on trilateral rail project

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A trilateral protocol has been signed on connecting the Uzbek rail network with Pakistan Railways via Afghanistan.

The protocol was inked on Tuesday, a day after officials from the three countries finalised the route for the connection.

Officials from Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan finalised the route for the trans-Afghan railroad project at a meeting in Islamabad.

The railway line will pass through Termiz in Uzbekistan, Balkh and Logar in Afghanistan and culminate in Pakistan via the Kharlachi crossing in Kurram.
