KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of essential daily-use items increased by nearly 10 percent and fuel by eight percent during the outgoing week in Kabul, market sources said on Saturday.
The closure of Salang highway and the increased value of afghani against US dollar are attributed to the surge in prices of food items and fuel in Kabul.
Earlier, the Ministry of Public Works has said the Northern Highway will be closed for all types of traffic after 11 days until completion of concrete works inside Salang Tunnel.
