KABUL (Pajhwok): A woman, who sells Bolani and other foods on the Qala-i-Fathullah Road in capital Kabul has asked government to support her in opening a proper Bolani selling restaurant.

She believed government support to her business cold help generate job opportunities for other people as well.

The Bibi Haji Bolani Shop on the 1st Qala-i-Fathullah Road attracted many people. Different delicious local foods such as Bolani, Ashak, Manto, Shorba and vegetable dishes are cooked by five women and offered to the customers.

Palwash Esa, the founder of this shop told Pajhwok Afghan News she started the business a year ago with the investment of 5,000 afs.

This business helped Palwash to deal with her daily house expense as well as she gives 120 afs to her workers. When she earns more, she increases the daily wages of her workers.

Palwasha has married two times, her first husband died while her second husband got second wife and currently live alone independently. From both marriages Palwash got six children and she have to bring them up.

She has divided the place where she is doing business into two parts with the help of a brown curtain. On one side she entertains her customers and, on another side, prepares the food.

Palwasha said different dishes such as Bolani, Ashak, Beryani, Bamiah, Shourba, Burani Kachalo and others are on the bases of a timetable prepared in her mini restaurant and presented to the customers.

She said the number of customers specially the Bolani customers was raising on daily bases. She said although running the shop was not easy but she was still happy to provide her children lawfull food.

Palwasha hoped that the day will come that she open more branches of Bibi Haji Bolani Shop.

She demanded the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA) to support women entrepreneur: “Find a permanent place for me so that I can transform my small restaurant into a big restaurant and involve more women in my work.”

Farima Naderi, one of her workers, also asked the IEA to provide them with a specific place for women who want to do business.

She said: “It’s been seven months since I worked here, I’m satisfied with my work, because I was unemployed before, we cook different foods on different days of the week, I’m happy, thank you, I have a lot of customers.”

She said the more the number of customers increases, the more their salary goes up.

Akhundzada Abdul Salaam, spokesperson for the ministry of Commerce and Industries, said they planned to create special markets for women entrepreneur in capital Kabul and some districts.

He said it is expected that a special women market would be opened in the Shahr-i-Naw Park where women themselves make business.

“If Allah I willing, the work is underway and we hope that these markets would be soon built and women entrepreneur who start their work from zero would be able to make improvement.”

He said the market would be a three-story building with a number of shops.
