Over 3,000 refugees return from Pakistan in 7 days

KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 3000 Afghan refugees have returned to the country after being forcibly deported from Pakistan during the past seven days, the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said on Thursday.

According to figures the ministry published on its X page during the past seven days, 3037 refugees, totaling around 566 families, were forcibly returned to the country from Pakistan between January 4 and 10.

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said 1,738 people or 344 families returned from Pakistan through Torkham crossing after being forcibly evicted.

During this period, 1,299 people or 224 families returned through Spin Boldak crossing.

The returnees also included 129 prisoners who had been released from jails in Pakistan.

In the previous week, 1941 refugees had returned from Pakistan.
