NIELI (Pajhwok): Some businesswomen in central Daikundi province supported their families economically by doing online business.
They sell cosmetics and healthcare products and said they were able to afford their daily expenditures through online business.
According to these businesswomen, they bought goods from other provinces or even imported from Iran and then sold to them their customers in Daikundi province. To attract more customers, the businesswomen did their marketing on social media pages.
One of these businesswomen Farzana Frahmand told Pajhwok Afghan News that she ran the online business for the past 11 months and she was able to support herself through the income she made in her business.
Since the schools and universities remained on the face of girls, Farzana thought about managing an online business for herself so she succeeded to manage her business from her house with the help of her smartphone.
Farzana said: “I have been in this business since 11 months, I could manage it from my home and it is one of the best businesses for women because there are no time and place limitations for them.”
The income in such an online business depends on the activity of each businesswoman, the more active she is the more her income increases, she said.
Najiba Rahimi is another one who sells cosmetics online, she also succeeded to fulfill a part her family needs additional to her own expenses from her business.
Rahimi said: “I make my income from selling cosmetics online, however a part of my income comes from the company from which I purchase the cosmetics.”
Rahimi faced numerous problems at the beginning of her business because she had no access to internet and she did not believe that she would succeed to get an income, she said.
These businesswomen urge other girls follow their way and help their families, one of them is Raqiba Rezaee who runs an online business in Daikundi, she expressed her satisfaction from making a favorable income.
Rezaee said females must not make themselves limited to education, they can look for more legal business opportunities as well.
She added: “It is the best option for the youth, especially for the girls to look for an online business for themselves because it is convenient and manageable online from home.” However provincial Information and Culture official admitted that they had plans to create more physical and online employment opportunities for the youth.
Speaking to Pajhwok reporter, Ali Jan Mirhazar, head of the Youth’s section in the Department of Information and Culture said that they had a program through which the youth get online business opportunities.
Mirhazar said that they would train some youth in online business who would be able to launch their online career after their graduation.
He added: “It was a part of our mission to help and manage the youth in online works.”
He clarified that even now some young people, including girls, may have informal online businesses, they were not up to date but they were trying to attract skilled young people by starting the online program.
