KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Vice and Virtue Sheikh Mohammad Khalid Hanafi says his ministry is committed to giving women all Shariah-guaranteed rights and no one reserves the right to give women to settle disputes.
He said this while addressing a gathering in eastern Laghman province, the Ministry of Vice and Virtue and Complaints (MoVVC) said in a statement.
Hanafi said: “MoVVC is committed to listening to and addressing people’s problems” He promised his ministry was striving to eliminate negative traditions from society.
No one would be allowed to violate people's rights based on primitive traditions, he said, affirming MoVVC’s commitment to granting females their Shariah-based rights.
He explained: “Government officials and scholars are obliged to implement orders and decrees issued by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) leadership.”
He also highlighted the importance of curbing vice and promoting virtue in an Islamic system.
MoVVC was committed to the implementation of all the decrees, orders and instructions issued by IEA leadership, the minister concluded.
