KABUL (Pajhwok): Over 400 Palestinians have been killed and more than 660 others wounded as a result of a fresh wave of Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, reports said on Wednesday.
According to the BBC, the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said more than 400 people had been killed in airstrikes by the Israeli military.
The Palestinian group alleged the Israeli forces targeted civilians and the US government was responsible for the casualties.
Gaza Health Minister Munir Al-Barsh said over 660 injured people were rushed to hospitals. Most of the victims were women and children, he added.
Since the beginning of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, more than 48,520 people, most of them civilians, have been killed and over 110,000 others injured.
In late January, Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal in Gaza, mediated by the US, Egypt and Gaza.
Hamas says Israel has violated the ceasefire agreement by unleashing new widespread attacks, which pose a threat to the lives of the hostages held in the enclave.
