GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Construction work has begun on hard shoulders of the Kabul-Kandahar main road in southern Ghazni province and the project will cost nearly 200 million afghanis.
Public Works Director Maulvi Abdul Qadir Bilal told Pajhwok Afghan News the construction of the Kabul-Kandahar main road was awarded to a private company under a contract. The road’s shoulders’ construction formally began in Moqor district yesterday.
He said the breakdown lanes will be paved and substantially rebuilt within a year.
According to the director, the project included construction of shoulders stretching 96 kilometers with a 1.5 meters width.
